Privacy Policy for Still Speaking
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Still Speaking is a Chrome extension that helps people communicate in Google Meet by showing an “I’m still speaking” or “Please give me a moment” card on their video tile.
Information stored locally
Still Speaking stores the following information only in Chrome’s local extension storage on the user’s device:
- Card text, shortcut preferences, duration settings, and display preferences.
- An optional name and optional profile image selected by the user for still-picture mode.
- Private reflection notes about card use, including the user’s own response to whether people gave them enough time to finish.
How information is used
This information is used only to provide the extension’s features. Still Speaking does not transmit these settings, images, or reflection notes to the developer or to third parties.
Camera and microphone
Still Speaking does not record, save, upload, or send camera or microphone content to the developer. When used in Google Meet, the extension can provide a locally generated status-card video stream or a user-selected still picture to Google Meet. Google Meet’s own handling of meeting media is governed by Google’s policies.
Sharing, sale, and advertising
Still Speaking does not sell user data, use user data for advertising, or transfer user data to third parties. The extension does not use analytics, tracking, or external servers.
User control and deletion
Users can remove their optional profile image, clear their private reflection log, or remove the extension to delete locally stored extension data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised date.
